Shorewomen Topped by #22 Blue Jays

Lane Scores First Career Goal for WC from Brady

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting #22 Johns Hopkins scored twice in each half on its way to a 4-1 win over host Washington College on Saturday afternoon in a Centennial Conference women's soccer game on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium. The Blue Jays go to 9-1-2 overall and 5-1-0 in the Centennial, while the Shorewomen go to 5-6-1 and 0-4-0 respectively.

How It Happened
- Despite four saves from Olivia Allen in the first half, Johns Hopkins scored twice to take a 2–0 lead into halftime. The Blue Jays scored in the 10th minute on a shot from the right side that slid just inside the left post and in the 43rd minute on a free kick into the left side of the goal.
- Washington College created scoring opportunities through Kaileigh Brady and Vanessa Shay early in the second half but were unable to chip into the lead. Johns Hopkins extended its lead to 3–0 early in the second half in the 52nd minute off a corner kick into the lower left corner. 
- Ruby Lane put Washington College on the scoreboard in the 69th minute with a goal assisted by Brady on a free kick, cutting the deficit to 3–1. It was Lane's first career score.
- The Blue Jays added another goal shortly afterward in the 73rd minute to secure the 4–1 result.

For The Shorewomen (5-6-1, 0-4-0 CC)

In Goal: Allen (eight saves, four goals allowed, 72:53)
The Shorewomen had nine shots and two corner kicks in the contest.
