Junior volleyball player Lyndsey Wessel (Huntington Beach, Calif./Marina) is this week's Shorewoman of the Week. Wessel helped the Shorewomen to a pair of Centennial Conference wins this past week over McDaniel and Ursinus.

In the Shorewomen's three-set win over visiting McDaniel on Wednesday night, Wessel led all players with three aces, added seven kills and hit .333 in the match. The junior served up back-to-back aces early in the third set to give WC a 4-2 lead and late in the set, capped a key 4-0 run with a kill to give the Shorewomen a 22-17 lead in a 25-18 third set triumph. Three days later against visiting Ursinus this past Saturday, Wessel led all players with five blocks and added a pair of aces as Washington picked up its second three-set conference sweep of the week in as many matches. The junior finished off the victory on Saturday with a kill.

This is Wessel's first career Shorewoman of the Week honor.
