Washington Nipped at Muhlenberg

Allentown, Pa. - The Washington College Shorewomen fell at Muhlenberg, 1-0, in a Centennial Conference field hockey game on Merino Field at Scotty Wood Stadium on Saturday afternoon despite a six-save performance from Charlotte Schurman. The Shorewomen created a few of opportunities throughout the game but were unable to find the back of the cage. The Mules are now 3-7 overall and 1-2 in the Centennial, while the Shorewomen are 2-8 and 0-2 respectively.

How it Happened
- In the first quarter, the Mules sent two shots wide in the opening minutes.
- Muhlenberg scored at 2:16 of the second quarter to give the opposition a 1-0 lead on a shot from the right side of the cage from about 10 yards away.
- Muhlenberg had a chance to go up two goals 4:09 into the second quarter, but it was blocked. The Shorewomen looked for an equalizer in the second quarter as Sophia Warner had a shot blocked by the Mules' goalkeeper with 3:42 to go in the second.
- Washington College continued to battle through the second half, with Schurman making multiple saves on Muhlenberg shots. The Shorewomen created opportunities of their own as Colleen Anson inserted two penalty corners and Tara Radebaugh recorded a shot, but the Mules' defense blocked the shot and held on for the win.
