Shorewomen Thwart Green Terror, 6-1

Rice Tallies Two Assists and Goal as Five Different Players Score in Win

Chestertown, Md. - The Washington College Shorewomen defeated the McDaniel College Green Terror, 6-1, on Wednesday afternoon in a Centennial Conference field hockey game on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium. Jamie Baldwin scored twice, while Erin Houlihan, Tara Radebaugh, Tyler Rice, Natalie Watkinson each added a goal in the victory with Rice handing out two assists and Radebaugh, Colleen Anson and Laney Errickson each passing out one helper with Anson and Errickson chalking up their first career assist and point in the win.

It was the team's Play4TheCure Game dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness.

How it Happened
- Washington College came out strong, putting pressure on McDaniel early with several shots and a penalty corner. Baldwin opened the scoring at 3:44, finishing off an assist from Erickson to give the Shorewomen a 1-0 lead after the first quarter.
- The Shorewomen added two goals early in the second quarter in a 50-second span as Radebaugh scored at 16:51 off an assist from Rice, followed by Rice scoring at 17:41 with an assist from Radebaugh.
- The home side extended its lead in the third quarter when Baldwin scored her second goal of the game at 77 seconds into the stanza, assisted by Rice. Watkinson and Houlihan then scored 17 seconds apart late in the quarter to make it 6-0 with Anson assisting on Watkinson's score.
- McDaniel got on the board with a penalty-stroke goal with 6:38 to go in the game, but the Shorewomen's defense held the Green Terror scoreless the rest of the way to secure the 6-1 win.
