CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College won its spring opener against visiting Catholic, 7-0, in a non-conference men's tennis match on Saturday inside the Johnson Fitness Center.

Doubles
- The Shoremen went 3-for-3 in doubles to grab the point for doubles. The top flight of
Maxi Synnestvedt and
Tichi Chialva won the first match of the day for Washington, 6-2. The tandem of
Jorge Urgal Zuleta and
Oskar Wroblewski at No. 2 gave the home standing side the doubles point in a 6-1 victory. Completing the sweep of the Cardinals was the third duo of
Kohl Perkins and
Petter Storberg notching a 6-4 result.
Singles
- Chialva netted the win in the first singles match to finish at No. 2 in a 6-0, 6-2 triumph.
- No. 4 singles was the next to finish with Urgal Zuleta getting 6-2, 6-0 score versus Catholic.
- Third singles was the clincher for WC as Perkins did the honors in a 6-2, 6-0 victory.
- Synnestvedt gained a win at the top spot in a 6-2, 6-3 win for the Shoremen.

Demir Isiker was victorious at No. 5 in a 7-6 (7-2), 6-4.
- Wroblewski completed the 7-0 victory at five singles with a 7-6 (7-1), 6-4 result.

- Washington is now 1-1 on the season and Catholic is 5-2.
