CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College got past visiting Catholic 4-3 inside the Johnson Fitness on Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's tennis action in the spring opener.

Doubles
- The Shorewomen won the last two matches in doubles to register the doubles point. Catholic got the win at first doubles in a 6-3 win over
Soleil Namunyola and
Eva Kading. Washington evened things with the duo of
Sofia Sperandei and
Juanita Arbelaez capturing a 6-2 win at No. 2. The Shorewomen secured the triumph in doubles over the Cardinals as the tandem of
Isabella Sorhegui and
Gaby Coutts netting a 6-3 victory.
Singles
- Third singles was the first match to reach its conclusion as Arbelaez won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
- Sorhegui gave the Shorewomen a 3-0 lead with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles.
- Catholic stayed alive with a win at the top flight, 6-3, 6-2 versus WC's Kading.
- The visitors got their second win in a 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) result against Namunyola at the second spot.

Jayda Browne tallied the clinching point for WC in a 6-0, 6-1 decision at No. 4.
- Catholic got the final point in a 6-4, 6-3 score at No. 5 versus
Jess Wilde.
