Division II Warriors Down Shorewomen, 5-2

Coutts and Sorhegui Clinch Doubles Point for Washington and Wilde Wins in Singles

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting Division II East Stroudsburg won five-of-six matches in singles to top host Washington College 5-2 inside the Johnson Fitness Center on Friday afternoon inside the Johnson Fitness Center in a non-conference and NCAA Interdivisional women's tennis match.

Doubles
- The Shorewomen took the doubles point from the Warriors by winning two of three. First doubles was the first to finish and Washington's Soleil Namunyola and Eva Kading won for the Shorewomen, 6-2. East Stroudsburg took the next match to finish at No. 2 in a 6-3 result against the duo of Jess Wilde and Juanita Arbelaez to give each side a win in doubles. In the rubber match, the Shorewomen's pair of Isabella Sorhegui and Gaby Coutts came away with a 7-6 (7-1) victory over the Warriors to give the home side the doubles point.

Singles
- Fourth singles was the first match to come to a conclusion and it was East Stroudsburg netting a 6-1, 6-2 win over Jayda Browne.
- The Warriors took the win at No. 2 versus Namunyola in a 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-6) decision.
- East Stroudsburg took a 3-1 lead with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 score at third singles versus Washington's Kading.
- At the top flight, the Warriors clinched the matched with a 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (11-9) win versus Arbelaez.
- In the second to last match to conclude, the road side netted a 6-2, 6-4 result against Sorhegui.
- Jess Wilde got the Shorewomen the win in the last match to wrap up in a 6-4, 7-5 triumph at No. 6.

Notes
- The Shorewomen are 3-2 on the season, while the Warriors improve to 4-3.
