#8 Sea Gulls Pull Away from Shorewomen, 16-10

Wilson Scores Three Times for Washington

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting #8 Salisbury used a three-goal run late in the second quarter to turn a 5-4 deficit into a 7-5 halftime lead on its way to a 16-10 win over host Washington College in a non-conference women's lacrosse game on Saturday afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium. The Sea Gulls improve to 3-0 on the season, while the Shorewomen fall to 2-1.

How It Happened
- Anna Wilson gave Washington a 3-1 lead 5:10 into the game on her second goal of the contest. The Shorewomen led 3-2 after one quarter.
- After MaryCate Anson put the Shorewomen ahead 5-4 with 5:34 left in the second on a feed from Mac Grogan, the Sea Gulls scored the last three to take a 7-5 lead into halftime. The visitors took the lead for the rest of the game at 6-5 with 3:31 remaining before intermission.
- Grogan got the opening score of the third for the Shorewomen 40 seconds into the fourth to trim it to 7-6 before the Sea Gulls netted the next three to make it 10-6 with 5:27 to go.
- Washington would get two of the next three to trim it to 11-8 after three with Mia Salvatierra scoring from Elisabeth Braswell with 2:25 left to reduce the lead to three after three.
- Salisbury would outscore the home side 5-2 in the fourth to pull away.

For The Shorewomen (2-1)
- Scoring: Wilson (three goals), Anson and Salvatierra (two goals), Grogan and Piper Evans (goal and assist), Braswell (two assists)
- In Goal: Maddy Kissinger (60:00, 10 saves, 16 goals)
- Anson (game-high eight draw controls)
- WC went 14-for-15 in clears, went 1-for-6 in free position shots and had nine ground balls.
- The Shorewomen totaled 25 shots and had 13 turnovers in the game.
