ORLANDO, Fla. – Washington College concluded its trip to Florida on Friday with a 4-3 setback to Carthage at the USTA National Campus.

Doubles
- The Firebirds took the last two doubles matches to earn the doubles point with all three matches being a 6-4 final. First doubles was the first match to end as the Shoremen's
Tichi Chialva and
Jorge Urgal Zuleta landed the win. Second doubles was the next to finish as Carthage netted win from Washington's
Maxi Synnestvedt and
Oskar Wroblewski. The point came down to third doubles as the Firebirds duo got the better
Kohl Perkins and
Demir Isiker.
Singles
- No. 1 singles was the first match to finish as the Firebirds went up 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-1 win versus Chialva.
- Wroblewski got the Shoremen their first win of the day with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) win at six singles.
- A 6-2, 7-5 win for Carthage at No. 4 versus Storberg gave the Firebirds a 3-1 lead.
- Synnestvedt overcame a 7-6 (7-2) loss in the first set to win the next two sets, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4) to keep the Shoremen alive.
- Washington tied the match at 3-3 at No. 5 singles as Urgal Zuleta gained a 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 win.
- Third singles would determine the match as Carthage rallied from a 6-2 loss to Perkins in the first set to win the next two sets, 6-4, 1-0 (10-3) to take the match.
Notes
- Washington is 4-4 on the season, while Carthage is 11-2.
