CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting #9 Swarthmore spoiled the Centennial Conference season opener for host Washington College in a 7-0 win on Saturday afternoon at Schottland Tennis Center in men's tennis action.

Doubles
- The nationally ranked Garnet took all three doubles matches. Third doubles finished first and it was a 6-1 win for Swarthmore versus
Demir Isiker and
Petter Storberg. Swarthmore captured the doubles point at second doubles in a 6-1 result against
Maxi Synnestvedt and
Oskar Wroblewski. The top flight was the last to finish as the Garnet captured a 6-3 score versus
Jorge Urgal Zuleta and
Tichi Chialva.
Singles
- Third singles was a 6-0, 6-0 win for Swarthmore versus Isiker.
- At the top spot,
Michael Melnikov, ranked sixth nationally, gave Swarthmore a 3-0 lead in a 6-1, 6-0 decision against Synnestvedt.
- Swarthmore took the match at fourth singles with scores of 6-2, 6-1 against Storberg.
- The Garnet got second singles by scores of 6-2, 6-3 against
Kohl Perkins.
- Wroblewski dropped a 6-2, 6-2 result at six singles.
- No. Â 5 singles was the final match to finish with Urgal Zuleta falling 6-4, 7-6 (7-3).
Notes
- Washington is now 4-5 overall and 0-1 in the conference on the season and ninth-ranked Swarthmore is 8-5 overall and 3-0 in the Centennial.
