Boggs Named D3hoops.com All-Region 5 Second Team

First WC Player to Land Honor Since 2012 and Second in Program History

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Senior center Kaitlyn Boggs (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) has been named to the D3hoops.com All-Region 5 second team for women's basketball in a vote conducted by members of the D3hoops.com voting panel. Boggs is the first Shorewomen to be named all-region in 14 years and second player in team history to land the honor.

She is eligible to be named to the All-America Team which will be announced this Saturday at the National Championship game.

Boggs, who played and started in 25 games this winter, led the team in points per game (16.9), points (423), field goals made (156), field goal percentage (.486), free throws made (111), blocks (40) and blocks per game (1.6), while placing second on the squad in rebounds per game at 10.3 as she set career-bests in several categories. This season, she was second in field goal percentage and free throws made, third in points, points per game, rebounds, rebounds per game, blocks and blocks per game. Last month, Boggs earned All-Centennial first team honors.

The senior who played in 104 career games with 99 starts, finished her career as team's all-time leader in blocked shots (140), third in points (1,138) and free throws made (278) and fourth in rebounds (789).

Boggs is the first D3hoops.com All-Region pick from Washington since Meghan Tait '12 was named to the third team in 2011-12 and second overall in the history of Shorewomen Basketball.

Region 5 in addition to the Centennial consists of schools from the Atlantic East, Landmark and MAC Commonwealth Conferences.
