Shorewomen Start Centennial Play Triumphantly in a 13-9 Win over Red Devils

Wilson Tallies Six Points on Four Goals and Two Assists

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College opened Centennial Conference victorious in a 13-9 win over visiting Dickinson in women's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium. The Shorewomen improve to 6-2 overall and 1-0 in the Centennial, while the Red Devils drop to 5-3 and 0-1 respectively.

How It Happened
- After Dickinson scored the game's opening goal 3:28 into the contest, Washington tallied the last three goals of the first quarter to lead 3-1 after one. Mac Grogan scored a down goal from Mia Salvatierra with 34 seconds left to give the home side a two-goal lead after one.
- Anna Wilson capped the four-goal run with the first goal of the second quarter with 12:47 left on a pass from Lis Braswell to give the home side a 4-1 edge.
- The Red Devils scored four of the final six goals of the second stanza to trim the lead to 6-5 at halftime.
- After a Grogan goal gave WC a 7-5 lead 44 seconds into the third, the Red Devils answered with two straight to level it at 7-7 with 11:40 to go in the third.
- Wilson put the Shorewomen ahead for good 63 seconds later to make it 8-7 and Piper Evans pushed it to 9-7 with 4:05 remaining.
- Dickinson got one back to cut it to 9-8 with 2:18 left before Wilson and Salvatierra scored respectively in 56 seconds with the other getting the assist on the goals to extend the lead to 11-8 with 38 seconds to go and it would be a three-goal cushion for Washington entering the fourth.
- In the fourth, the visitors got it to 11-9 with 11:52 to go before Wilson and Evans tallied goals to put the game away for the hosts.

For The Shorewomen (6-2, 1-0 CC)
- Scoring: Wilson (game-high six points on four goals and two assists), Evans (four scores), Grogan (two goals and assist), Salvatierra (goal and two helpers), Braswell (goal and two assists)
- In Goal: Maddy Kissinger (60:00, 13 saves, nine goals)
- Anson (game-high eight draw controls), Salvatierra (three caused turnovers), Wilson (five ground balls)
- WC went 11-for-13 in clears, went 0-for-5 in free position shots and picked up 21 ground balls.
- The Shorewomen totaled 35 shots and had 18 turnovers in the game.
