Westminster, MD- Washington College Softball fall to McDaniel in mid-week doubleheader. The Shorewomen had bases loaded in the top of the seventh with the tying run up to bat, but host McDaniel captured the third out before the runs could cross.

How It Happened
- The Shorewomen scored first in the top of the first inning. Jenna Harper was walked as the lead-off batter. Lilly Wenzel singled up the middle, moving Harper to third, two batters later. Cece Johnston and Julia Weglarz were both walked which loaded the bases and sent Harper home. The Shorewomen were up, 1-0.
- McDaniel scored in the bottom of the same inning.
- The Shorewomen scored four runs off four hits in the top of the second inning. Johnston left the inning with a single up the middle and two RBI to put the Shorewomen up, 5-1.
- McDaniel scored eight runs in the bottom of the third inning to take the lead, 11-5, over the Shorewomen. They scored three more in the bottom of the fourth to extend the lead, 14-5.
- The Shorewomen had the bases loaded in the top of the fifth to try and avoid the run rule, but the third out was recorded before a run could score. They dropped game one, 14-5

How It Happened
- Jenna Harper singled to start off game two. A sacrifice bunt by Grace Allen moved her to second. Harper took third on a passed ball. Gracelyn Goforth was walked as the next batter up, she then stole second. Lilly Wenzel singled to left field, allowing Harper to score, and putting the Shorewomen up 1-0 early.
- The Shorewomen had the bases loaded in the top of the fourth as Becca Foulk and Emma Trainer each singled in their at bats. Lindsay Worley walked following their hits. A ground out retired the inning and left the Shorewomen sitting four runs behind McDaniel, 3-1.
- McDaniel was up 7-1 in the top of the sixth inning. Foulk and Trainer were walked to start the inning. Worley's sacrifice bunt moved them both up a base for Harper, the next batter up. Harper was also walked loading the bases with one out for the Shorewomen.
- Grace Allen singled down the left field line, sending Foulk and Trainer home and putting the Shorewomen down four, 7-3. Wenzel singled to centerfield sending Harper home and Johnston followed that up with an RBI of her own to send Allen home and put the Shoremen within two, 7-5.
- McDaniel scored one run in the bottom of the sixth to push their lead to 8-5.
- The bases were loaded with one out and Allen up to bat in the bottom of the seventh inning. She reached first on a fielder's choice, sending Trainer home, and putting the Shorewomen within two, 8-6. McDaniel recorded the third and final out of the inning to take game two, 8-6.
