How it Happened

  • The Shorewomen matched each of Muhlenberg's goals early to tie the score 2-2 on a free position shot by Mia Salvatierra. A shot by Lis Braswell tipped in by Muhlenberg's defender put the Shorewomen ahead at the end of the first 15 minutes, 3-2.
  • Piper Evans put the Shorewomen up by two as she scored less than two minutes into the second period, wrapping around the goal to put one in the back of the net. Malery Andrews and Anna Wilson teamed up for the Shorewomen's fifth goal. Wilson assisted Andrews as the Shorewomen were up by three, 5-2.
  • The Shorewomen defense held Muhlenberg to their two goals in the second period and extended their lead, 10-2.
  • A goal by Evans with 11:59 left to play in the third pushed the Shorewomen's lead to ten, triggering a running clock.
  • Muhlenberg scored their third goal of the game with eight minutes left to play to stop the running clock. They went on a 2-1 run to end the third period still down, 13-5.
  • Muhlenberg outscored Washington 7-1 in the final period scoring three man-up goals. The Shorewomen's lone goal of the period came curtesy of Wilson who was found by Salvatierra.
  • Muhlenberg's final period push was not enough to catch the Shorewomen as #24 Muhlenberg fell to the Shorewomen, 14-12.
