#67 Shorewomen Handle Owls, 6-1

Arbelaez Clinches Victory for Washington at Top Flight

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Visiting #67 Washington won all six matches in singles to down host Bryn Mawr, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Bryn Mawr College Tennis Courts in a Centennial Conference women's tennis match.

Doubles
- The Owls won the final two doubles matches to win the doubles point, their lone point of the match. Soleil Namunyola and Eva Kading took victory at the top spot for the Shorewomen in a 6-1 win. The Owls won at third doubles 7-5 against Juanita Arbelaez and Jess Wilde to tie doubles at a win apiece. Bryn Mawr took second doubles to net the doubles point, 7-5, versus WC's Isabella Sorhegui and Gaby Coutts.

Singles
- Kading coasted to a pair of 6-1 wins at No. 3 to level the match at 1-1.
- Wilde put WC ahead for good at 2-1 in a 6-4, 6-0 triumph at six singles.
- Sorhegui put the guests on the brink of a win at four singles in a 6-2, 6-1 result.
- Arbelaez clinched the victory for Washington at the top flight in a 7-6 (7-3), 6-0 decision.
- Sofia Sperandei won the penultimate match at No. 5 in a come-from-behind 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory.
- Namunyola completed the sweep in singles with a 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) win at the second spot.

Notes
- The Shorewomen are 8-7 on the season and 2-2 in the Centennial, while the Owls are 9-6 and 2-2 on the season respectively.
