CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Junior attackman
Peyton Gestole (Sudlersville, Md./Queen Anne's County) scored the game-winning goal 50 seconds into overtime from junior midfielder
Carson Crawford (Centreville, Md./Queen Anne's County) to give host Washington College a 12-11 extra session win over visiting Swarthmore in Centennial Conference men's lacrosse action on Wednesday night on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium. The Shoremen, who locked up a spot in the 2026 Centennial Conference Tournament with the victory, are now 12-3 on the season and 6-1 in the conference, while the Garnet is now 9-6 and 3-3 respectively.

How It Happened
- Both teams traded five goals in the first quarter with Washington scoring and Swarthmore responding to be even at 5-5 at the end of one.
- Swarthmore scored the first three goals of the second to lead 8-5 with 3:14 to go before halftime.
- Washington got one back with 59 second to go on a
Nate Winters goal courtesy of a
Talan Behler assist to trim it to 8-6 at halftime.
- In the third, the Garnet scored the first goal 39 seconds in to go ahead 9-6 before the Shoremen netted the final two of the third to cut it to 9-8 entering the fourth.
- Gestole would even the game at 9-9 with 9:40 to go on a pass from Behler before Crawford put WC ahead 10-9 with 7:53 left on a feed from
Jake Arcudi.

Jake Laubach put the home side ahead 11-9 with 6:32 to go.
- The Garnet would cut the lead to 11-10 with 2:47 to go and evened the game at 11-11 with 71 seconds to go. Swarthmore had the final shot of regulation, but the shot went wide with three seconds to go.
- In overtime, Washington won the face-off via a violation and Crawford found Gestole for the walk-off score from the right side.

- Washington was 25-for-26 in clears in the contest and was 1-for-2 in man-up chances.
- Washington had 11 turnovers, while causing eight Swarthmore turnovers and picked up 27 ground balls.
Notes
- Gestole has factored in all four of Washington's overtime wins this season with three goals and one assist. The junior scored against Dickinson, Haverford and Swarthmore and assisted versus Stockton.
