Chestertown, MD- Washington College Baseball sweeps on Senior Day as they won by one point in each game. The Shoremen walked it off in the bottom of the ninth to complete the sweep and move to 9-5 in conference play.
Game 1: Washington College 8 Haverford 7
How It Happened
- Haverford scored first, going 2-0 over the Shoremen in the top of the second inning.
- Ty Everitt hit into a sacrifice fly to send Reese Hirsh home who was previously hit by a pitch for the first Shoremen run to cross the plate. The score was 2-1 heading into the third.
- A three run RBI home run to left field by Chase Ruppel in the bottom of the third put the Shoremen ahead for the first time, 4-2.
- Haverford homered in the top of the sixth to move their score to 4-3.
- The Shoremen doubled their score in the bottom of the same inning as Brett Connolly hit a grand slam with bases loaded and two outs on the board. He sent home Everitt who singled to center field and Pete Kokinis and Drew Kinsey who were both walked.
- Haverford came within one in the top of the eighth as they pushed their score to seven.
- The Shoremen were scoreless in the bottom of the eighth but were able to capture three outs faster than Haverford could score as they took the game 8-7. The third out saved a run as Elias Philiposian threw down to Hirsh behind the plate to secure the win for the Shoremen.

How It Happened
- Haverford went up 2-0 at the end of the top of the first frame. The Shoremen matched those runs in the bottom as Drew Kinsey reached base on a throwing error and Brett Connolly sent him home with a home run to left center field.
- Haverford scored two more in the top of third to go up, 4-2.
- The Shoremen brought the answer in the bottom of the same inning scoring four runs off four hits to take the lead, 6-4. Alex Dardaris, Ty Powell, and Tahir Parker each recorded RBI as the Shoremen left the inning on top.
- The Fords doubled their score heading into the bottom of the fourth on top, 8-6.
- A balk scored the first and tying run in the bottom of the fourth for the Shoremen. The score was 8-8 at the end of four.
- Washington was the only team to score in the fifth inning as they took the lead as bases were loaded. Chase Ruppel was walked sending Parker across the plate after he doubled to right center. They went up 9-8.
- Brady Wozniak reached first on a dropped fly ball and Ty Everitt batted him in the next at bat with a home run to left field. The Shoremen left the sixth inning up, 11-8.
- Haverford took the lead 13-12 in the top of the ninth inning. The Shoremen quickly loaded the bases with the first three batters in the bottom of the ninth. An infield fly collected the first out, but the bases remained loaded. Wozniak singled down the right field line sending two runners home and the Shoremen walked it off, winning 14-13 over the Fords.
