CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting #16 Swarthmore topped host #62 Washington College, 7-0, on Saturday at Schottland Tennis Center in Centennial Conference women's tennis action. The Shorewomen will be the fifth seed in the upcoming Centennial Conference Tournament and will visit fourth seed Dickinson on Tuesday.

Doubles
- Swarthmore took all three doubles matches to get the doubles point. The Garnet took second doubles in the first match to finish, 6-1, over
Juanita Arbelaez and
Sofia Sperandei. The visitors secured the doubles point in a 6-2 win at third doubles over
Isabella Sorhegui and
Gaby Coutts. The top flight was the last to finish with Swarthmore outlasting
Soleil Namunyola and
Eva Kading, 7-5.
Singles
- Fifth singles finished first with the Garnet downing Sperandei, 6-0, 6-0.
- Swarthmore won a No. 3, 6-0, 6-1 versus Kading.
- The visitors clinched the match at No. 6 singles over
Jess Wilde, 6-2, 6-1.
- Arbelaez got top singles to a third set with a 6-1 win after dropping the first set 6-4, but fell in the third set, 1-0 (10-2).
- Four singles went the way of Swarthmore against Sorhegui, 7-6 (7-4), 6-1.
- Namunyola at two singles dropped the opening set 6-4 before rebounding to win the second set 7-5. In the third set, the Garnet took it 1-0 (10-6).
Notes
- The Shorewomen are 11-9 on the season, while the Garnet, ranked fifth in the Atlantic South Region, is 13-5. WC finished CC play at 4-4, while Swarthmore went 8-0.
- Washington honored its three seniors at the match - Kading, Namunyola and Sorhegui.
