Shoremen Handle Green Terror For Tenth Win of the Season, 18-3

Team Reaches 10 Wins for the First Time Since 2014

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Visiting Washington College scored 15 unanswered goals spanning the first through fourth quarters in a 18-3 win over host McDaniel in Centennial Conference men's lacrosse action on Wednesday afternoon at Gill Stadium. The Shoremen improved to 10-3 on the season and 4-1 in the conference, while the Green Terror slips to 5-8 overall and 0-4 in the conference. Washington won its tenth game in a season for the first since going 18-2 in 2014.

How It Happened
- McDaniel led 2-1 following its second straight goal with 10:07 left in the first quarter before Washington scored the final three of the quarter to lead 4-2 after one. Jake Laubach tied it at 2-2 on a man-up score from Reeve Hargrave with 5:28 to go, Nate Winters put the Shoremen ahead 3-2 with 3:07 left on a feed from Peyton Gestole and Luca Signorello capped it with 2:14 remaining on an assist from Aiden Ventura.
- The Shoremen scored all three goals of the second with Laubach tallying a man-up goal with 15 ticks left before halftime from Gestole to put the road side ahead 7-2 at halftime.
- Washington outscored McDaniel 5-0 in the third stanza to take a 12-2 lead into the fourth quarter with Nate Winters scoring two of the five.
- In the fourth stanza, the Shoremen outscored the Green Terror, 6-1, to provide the final margin.

- Scoring: Gestole (three goals, game-best four assists, contest-high seven points), Winters (three goals, assist), Aiden Ventura (two goals and assist), Hargrave (goal and two assists), Laubach and Keean McGrath (two goals), Signorello and Talan Behler (goal and assist)
- In Goal: Keegan Dunn (39:45, two goals allowed, two saves), Skeet Hine (12:33, zero goals allowed, one save), Colin Gray (4:27, one goal allowed, three stops), Tommy Winslow (3:15, zero goals allowed, zero stops)
- Carrigan, Tom Merritt and Carson Smith (two caused turnovers).
- Max McKenna (5-for-5 on face-offs) and Ronan Miller (5-for-8 on face-offs)
- The Shoremen held a 55-14 advantage in shots and won 18 of the contest's 24 face-offs.
- Washington was 10-for-11 in clears in the contest and was 4-for-5 on the man-up.
- Washington had 16 turnovers, while causing eight McDaniel turnovers and picked up 22 ground balls.
Notes
- Washington extended its winning streak over McDaniel to 26 straight games and has now won 51 games all-time versus McDaniel, the most against any one opponent, in just 56 games.
