#41 Diplomats Get Better of #49 Shoremen, 6-1

Synnestvedt Wins at Two Singles and Chialva and Urgal Zuleta Win at Two Doubles for Washington

LANCASTER, Pa. – Host #41 Franklin & Marshall bested visiting #49 Washington College, 6-1, on Wednesday afternoon at Ace Brooks Tennis Center in a Centennial Conference men's tennis match.

Doubles
- The Diplomats won two of three in doubles to earn the doubles point. First doubles was the first match to finish and it was a 6-2 score for F&M over Petter Storberg and Demir Isiker. The Shoremen tied it at a win apiece at second doubles as Tichi Chialva and Jorge Urgal Zuleta claimed a 6-2 victory. The doubles point came down to the third spot and the home side pulled out a 6-3 win versus the visitors' Oskar Wroblewski and Maxi Synnestvedt.

Singles
- Third singles was the first to finish with the Diplomats taking a 6-3, 6-4 win against Isiker.
- No. 5 went the way of Franklin & Marshall, 6-4, 6-1 versus WC's Kohl Perkins.
- F&M won the match at the top flight in a 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 result against Chialva to lead 4-0.
- Synnestvedt won at second singles for Washington, 6-4, 0-6, 6-4 for the Shoremen's lone point of the match.
- Urgal Zuleta dropped the first set at No. 6, 3-6, before rallying to win 6-3 in the second set. He had to retire in the third set tied at 2-2 to give F&M the win.
- Fourth singles was the final match to end and it was 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 win for the Diplomats versus Storberg.

Notes
- Washington is now 8-7 overall and 3-2 in the Centennial, while Ursinus is 8-5 and 2-1 respectively.
