NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Three Washington College women's lacrosse players were named 2026 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Metro Region on Friday morning. Senior attacker
Mia Salvatierra (Bel Air, Md./Fallston) was named to the first team, while senior attacker
Piper Evans (Chestertown, Md./Queen Anne's County) and senior midfielder
Anna Wilson (Jarrettsville, Md./Bryn Mawr) earned a spot on the second team. All three are eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team that will be announced later this month.
Evans, Salvatierra and Wilson are all-region selections for the first time.
Salvatierra, who was tabbed All-Centennial Conference first team on May 5, led the squad in assists (39), points (84) and free position goals (14), while placing second in goals (45) in 17 games this spring, all starts. Salvatierra tied the program record for assists in a single game (7) in a victory at Ursinus on April 6. In 69 career games, all starting assignments, she totaled 168 goals and 104 assists for 272 points to go along with 75 ground balls and 60 draw controls. She finishes her career second in points, third in assists and fifth in points at Washington.
Evans, who earned all-conference second team honors last week, started in all 17 games this season and totaled personal-highs in goals (58), assists (16), points (72) and free position goals (8). She led the team in goals, was second in free position goals and points and third in assists, while netting a career-best 16 caused turnovers. She had three games of seven points this season, including one in a win over nationally ranked Christopher Newport in March. In 51 all-time contests, 34 starts, she registered 118 goals and 30 assists for 148 points. She is one of 20 players in program history to score 100 or more goals.
Wilson, who was named All-Centennial first team recognition eight days ago, amassed career-highs in goals (32), assists (11), points (43), ground balls (34) and caused turnovers (21) to go along with 58 draw controls in starting all 17 contests this season. The senior recorded a career-best six points in a win over visiting Dickinson in the Centennial opener on March 21. In 70 career games, all starts, she recorded 107 goals, 128 points, 186 draw controls which is good for fifth in team history, 98 ground balls and 55 caused turnovers.
Since 2013, Washington has had eight first team selections and 12 second team picks for a total of 20 all-region selections.
The All-Metro Region consisted of players representing teams from the Atlantic East Conference, Centennial Conference, Landmark Conference, Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth and Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom.
The Shorewomen qualified for their 13th Centennial Conference Tournament in the past 14 tournaments this spring and 16th overall since the tournament commenced in 2001. The 16 Centennial Tournament appearances are the most for a Washington College team that must qualify for the conference tournament.
