Shoremen Bow Out in CC Tournament Versus Bears, 9-1

Parker Tallies Two Hits and RBI and Connolly Ties CC Record For Most Hits by a Freshman

BALTIMORE, Md. – Ursinus downed Washington College 9-1 in the first elimination game of the 2026 Centennial Conference Baseball Tournament on Saturday on Babb Field at Stromberg Stadium on the campus of Johns Hopkins. The Bears, the fourth seed, improves to 24-17-1 on the season, while the third seeded Shoremen conclude their campaign at 22-20.

How It Happened
- Ursinus struck for a pair of one out runs in the top of the third inning on consecutive base hits to take a 2-0 lead.
- In the top of the fourth, the Bears pushed their lead to 3-0 on a ground ball double play.
- The Shoremen got on the board in the bottom half of the fourth on a base hit up the middle by Tahir Parker that drove in Ty Everitt with two away.
- A sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth with one out gave Ursinus a 4-1 advantage.
- Ursinus posted a five-spot in the top of the ninth capped by a two-run single to right with two away to provide the final margin.

For The Shoremen (22-20)
- Hitting: Parker (2-for-4, RBI), Brett Connolly (2-for-4), Everitt (1-for-3, run, walk)
- Pitching: Michael Lewis (loss 5-2, 5+ innings, six hits, four runs, three earned, four walks, three strikeouts)
- Washington had eight hits and drew one walk, while leaving seven on base. 
- The Shoremen made three errors in the game, leading to zero unearned run for the Bears.

Notes
- Connolly tied the Centennial Conference mark for hits in a season by a freshman with 67. The rookie tied the mark on a base hit up the middle in the bottom of the fifth. Connolly joins Shane Daly (McDaniel – 2022) and Alex Shane (Johns Hopkins – 2023).
- The 42 games played this season is a program record for most games in a season. The previous high was 41 in 2022.
- The seniors on this squad were Everitt, Matt Corda, Nico DiGrazio, Landon Friedman, Luke Herz, Drew Kinsey, Elias Philiposian, Chase Ruppel, Jack Smith, Tyler Titus and Wyatt Uhde.
