Fredericksburg, Va. - The Washington College Shoremen fell to the University of Mary Washington Eagles 3-1, on Saturday afternoon on the road in a non-conference men's soccer game at Roy Gordon Field. The Eagles go to 4-0-0 on the season, while the Shoremen are 1-1-3.

How it Happened
- The Shoremen created multiple opportunities in the opening half, earning three corner kicks from
Tshazi Kamau and
Tucker Sprano in the first 20:21 of the game.
- Mary Washington took a 1-0 lead at 22:22 on a finish off a cross from about six yards out, but goalkeeper
Hannes Budde kept the Shoremen within striking distance with multiple saves throughout the opening half.
Kaua de Oliveira added a shot that was saved by the Eagles goalkeeper with 6:28 remaining before halftime
- Out of halftime, Washington College came out with an immediate offensive opportunity, as
Jordan Waiganjo scored his first goal of the season at 52:36 after stealing the ball from a Mary Washington defender to bring the Shoremen level at 1-1.
- The Eagles responded with two goals to give them a 3-1 lead in the 58th minute. The first goal of the came just 36 seconds after WC tied it from about eight yards out and the second score came at 57:17 on a header from 10 yards away.
- de Oliveira and
Misha Paul had the Shoremen's final two shots on target, but both were saved as the Shoremen were unable to close the gap, falling to Mary Washington 3-1.
