Shorewomen Take Care of Blazers, 2-0

Ross Nets First Collegiate Goal for Winner and Kilbride Adds Insurance Score from Peace

FREDERICK, Md. – Visiting Washington College scored two first half goals and it would stand up in a 2-0 win over host Hood on Saturday afternoon at Thomas Athletic Field in a non-conference women's soccer meeting. The Shorewomen are now 3-2-0 on the season, while the Blazers fall to 1-3-0.

How It Happened
- Danica Ross put the Shorewomen ahead for the rest of the game at the 10:36 mark from 25 yards out into the upper left corner of the goal after Washington stole a Hood clearing attempt. For Ross, it was her first career score.
- Washington would push the lead to 2-0 with 3:12 to go before halftime as Ashleigh Peace's pass from midfield found Sophie Kilbride near the top of the box on the right side and netted it into the upper left 90 from the right side at 10 yards away.
- The Shorewomen took a 2-0 lead into halftime on the host Blazers.
- In the second half, Hood had one chance on target in the 82nd minute but it was saved by Rylee Louden in the last shot of the game.
