LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior goalkeeper
Charlotte Schurman (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week in field hockey for the week of September 7-13. This is the first time Schurman has won the Centennial's weekly award.
Schurman stopped 20 shots and had a .909 save percentage in a pair of games last week. On Wednesday at third-ranked Salisbury, the senior netminder turned away 14 shots, one off her career-high. In Saturday's 1-0 victory against visiting Susquehanna, Schurman stopped six shots, including a save with 51 seconds to preserve the lead and shutout.
