LANCASTER, Pa. – Host Franklin & Marshall spoiled the Centennial opener for visiting Washington College, 1-0, on Wednesday night in a Centennial Conference women's soccer game at Tylus Field courtesy of a goal in the 31st minute. The Diplomats are now 5-1-1 overall and 2-0-0 in the Centennial, while the Shorewomen are 4-3-1 and 0-1-0 respectively.

How it Happened

Olivia Allen had three saves in the first half with stops in the eighth, 10th and 28th minute.
- The Diplomats broke through for the lone score of the match at the 30:37 mark on an unassisted score from around 20 yards out into the upper left of the net.

Lily Barnum got the Shorewomen's first shot on goal in the 35th minute, but it was saved as F&M took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
- In the second half,
Vanessa Shay notched a shot on goal in the 58th minute and
Kaileigh Brady in the 65th, but both were stopped by the Diplomats' keeper.
- Washington had three chances in the final 3:43 to get the equalizer, but were unable to.
Sophie Kilbride had a shot on goal stopped with 3:43 left, Barnum hit the right post with exactly a minute to go and the follow-up by
Dafny Vasquez was wide five seconds later as it was the last shot of the contest.
