HAZLETON, Pa. – The Washington College volleyball team swept a pair of matches in three sets on Sunday afternoon at the Gymnasium in a non-conference tri-match on the campus of Penn State Hazleton. In the first match, the Shorewomen were topped by Kent State Tuscarawas 3-2 (25-12, 23-25, 24-26, 25-23, 15-9) and in the second contest, Washington rebounded to top host Penn State Hazleton 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-13).

How It Happened
- In the first set, Kent State Tuscarawas led 11-10 before going on a 14-2 run to win the set 25-12. A kill by the Golden Eagles ended the opening set.
- The Shorewomen leveled the match at 1-1 by scoring seven of the final nine points to win 25-23. A hitting error by Kent State Tuscarawas ended the set.
Gianna Folke put Washington ahead 24-23 on a kill.
- WC rallied from a 22-19 deficit in the third set to win 26-24, winning the final three points of the third. An assisted block by
Addison Carr and
Alexis Stubbs was the clinching point.
- Kent State-Tuscawaras led 24-23 in the fourth set before putting it away with a kill to force a fifth and decisive set.
- After losing the first point, the Golden Eagles would win eight of the next 10 points of the fifth set to lead 8-3 and closed out the match on a kill.

How It Happened
- Washington led 21-19 in the first set before rolling off four straight points to win it with
Emily Hartnett tallying an ace to secure the opener.
- The Shorewomen led 24-19 in the second set before the Lions staved off four match points to trim the lead to 24-23 on a block. However,
Bethany Haughton netted a kill to give WC a 25-23 second-set win.
- In the third and final set, the Shorewomen never trailed in beating Penn State Hazleton 25-13.
Georgia Tyler notched an ace to end the contest.
