Standing out in the long line of prolific scorers to have played at Washington College is no small feat, but that’s exactly what Jason Paige did in three years playing for the Shoremen.

After transferring to Washington College, Jason made an immediate impact with the Shoremen as a sophomore in 1992. He led the Shoremen in goals, with 40, and points, with 56, and tied for the team lead in assists, with 16, en route to All-America honorable mention recognition.  The Shoremen finished that season with a 10-4 record.

In 1993, Jason scored a team-leading 47 goals and handed out 19 assists for a team-best 66 points. He was named to the  All Middle-Atlantic Conference first team and the All-America third team as the Shoremen went 12-4 and earned a spot in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Jason closed out his collegiate career with an historic season in 1994.  He again led the Shoremen in goals and points and tied for the team lead in assists. He scored a Centennial Conference-leading 64 goals and handed out 23 assists for 87 total points – tying a single-season school record which would not be broken for 10 more years.  He was named to the All-Centennial Conference first team and to the All-America first team and was chosen to play in the North/South Senior All-Star Game. The Shoremen went 10-5 in 1994, advancing to the NCAA Division III Semifinals.

Jason’s three-year totals at Washington College surpassed what many top players accumulated in four. He finished with 151 goals and 58 assists for 209 total points.

After first serving as an assistant coach for the Shoremen and then for St. Andrew’s School in Middletown, Del., Jason became the head coach at Keuka College, where he will begin his 14th season this spring. He was named the North Eastern Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2009 as the Storm won the first-ever NEAC Tournament Championship.  He also coached the men’s and women’s cross country teams at Keuka from 2004-2008.

Washington College considers it an honor and privilege to induct Jason V. Paige into its Athletic Hall of Fame on this 13th day of October, 2012.
