WASHINGTON, DC - Host Catholic University got two goals from Mike Brennan in the second half to defeat visiting Washington College, 2-0, in a non-conference men's soccer game this afternoon in Washington, DC.

Catholic (5-5-1) broke a scoreless tie at 59:03 when Brennan stole a pass in front of the goal and fired it in.  He tacked on an insurance goal at 88:52 off an assist from Nick Sylvester.

Junior goalkeeper Chris Phipps (Newark, DE/St. Mark's) made seven saves in the loss for the Shoremen. Thomas O'Leary made three saves in the win for the Cardinals.

The Cardinals held a 24-6 advantage in shots in the game and recorded eight corner kicks without allowing one.

The Shoremen (3-7-1) are back in action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. game at Muhlenberg.
