Box Score Shipley Scores Four Goals in Win
CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Host Washington College raced
out to a 13-1 halftime lead en route to a 17-4 Centennial
Conference women's lacrosse win over visiting Swarthmore College
this afternoon in Chestertown. The Shorewomen improved to 3-2
overall and 1-1 in conference play with the win, while the Garnet
fell to 3-1 and 0-1 with the loss.
Freshman midfielder Mollie Shipley
(Denville, NJ/Morris Catholic) scored four goals for the
Shorewomen in the win to lead a balanced offensive effort. Senior
midfielder Allie Hanzsche (Catonsville, MD/Mount de
Sales), junior attacker Sarah Cannon (Baltimore,
MD/Notre Dame Prep), sophomore attacker Kalli
Parrish (Timonium, MD/McDonogh School), and junior
midfielder Liz Cumberpatch (Annapolis,
MD/Annapolis) each scored two goals for Washington.
Freshman midfielder Marissa Restaino (Media,
PA/Penncrest), senior attacker Catherine Habel
(Gaithersburg, MD/Watkins Mill), freshman attacker
Britton Preroff (Baltimore, MD/Bryn Mawr), and
freshman attacker Corinne Ziccardi (Baltimore, MD/Loch
Raven) each scored one. Junior midfielder Sam
Ohrem (Ridgefield, CT/Ridgefield) notched two assists.
Sophomore midfielder Rachel Bartee (Mount Airy, MD/South
Carroll), Hanley, Hanzsche, Parrish, and Restaino each had
one assist.
Freshman goalie Stephanie Seibert (Clear
Spring, MD/Mercersburg Academy) made eight saves and
allowed just one goal in the first half for the Shorewomen. Senior
goalie Tara Hart (Baltimore, MD/Garrison Forest)
made three saves and allowed three goals in the second half.
Annalise Mowry had two goals and
an assist to lead Swarthmore. Amy Vachal and
Phoebe Hansen scored one goal each, while
Emily Evans and Maddie Williams
each had an assist.
Washington held a 33-17 advantage in shots in the
game and controlled 16 of the 22 draws.
The Shorewomen return to action tomorrow with a
4:30 p.m. game at Randolph-Macon.
