Shorewomen Cruise Past Owls, 18-7

Nine Players Score in Win

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Nine players scored at least one goal each as host Washington College rolled to an 18-7 Centennial Conference women's lacrosse win over visiting Bryn Mawr tonight on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Shorewomen improved to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in conference play with the win, while the Owls fell to 2-7 and 0-6 with the loss.

The Shorewomen fell behind, 3-1, early in the game but ran off 14 unanswered goals to end the firtst half and build a 15-3 lead at the intermission. Washington took just six shots in the second half, scoring on three of them.

Senior midfielder Rachel Bartee (Mount Airy, MD/South Carroll) scored four goals on four shots for the Shorewomen, while junior midfielder Mollie Shipley (Denville, NJ/Morris Catholic) matched her career high of six points, tallying two goals and four assists. Senior attacker Kalli Parrish (Timonium, MD/McDonogh School) scored three goals and assisted on another, while sophomore midfielder Carly Eisenbrandt (Baltimore, MD/Towson), senior attacker Liza Twilley (Salisbury, MD/Salisbury School), junior attacker Corinne Ziccardi (Baltimore, MD/Loch Raven) scored two goals each. 

Freshman midfielder Liz Godorov (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) and freshman attacker Caroline Lovett (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) each scored one goal and both picked up their first collegiate assist in the victory. Sophomore defender Sydney Slavin (Timonium, MD/Dulaney) scored one goal, while junior midfielder Marissa Restaino (Media, PA/Penncrest) and junior defender Katie Rogers (Annapolis, MD/Elizabeth Seton) added one assist each. Junior goalie Stephanie Seibert (Clear Spring, MD/Mercersburg Academy [PA]) made seven saves and allowed the seven goals before leaving the game with 4:24 remaining.

Kathleen Magner scored two goals and had the Owls' only assist in the loss. Natalie Chrismer, Miranda Gordon-Zigel, Zoe Pond-McPherson, Zoe Fisher, and Katherine Kilmer each scored one goal.

The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a 12:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Dickinson.
