Box Score Win Against Mules is First Since 2008, Second in Program History
ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Junior forward Brian Wilkinson (Sykesville, Md./Mount St. Joseph) scored twice off of free kicks as visiting Washington College defeated host Muhlenberg, 2-1, in a Centennial Conference men's soccer game this afternoon in Allentown, Pa. The victory over the Mules was the Shoremen's first since 2008 and second-ever in the all-time series between the two schools.

How It Happened
- Wilkinson's first goal off a free kick went off the back of the post and in for a 1-0 Shoremen lead at the 32:29 mark.
- The Shoremen dominated the first half offensively, recording eight shots and four corner kicks while holding the Mules to one and zero, respectively.
- Wilkinson's second free-kick goal was the first shot of the second half as he scored all the way from just inside the sideline at 52:24.
- The Mules then put the pressure on as Christina Wieand sent a shot off the crossbar in the 58th minute before Nick Dusing sent a free kick to Nick Sarkos for a goal at 62:43.
- Muhlenberg's final shot of the game was a header by Chris Skutnik that went wide in the 89th.
For the Shoremen (6-5, 2-3 Centennial Conference)
- Scorers: Wilkinson (2 goals)
- Goalkeeper: Josh Samuels (2 saves, 1 goal allowed, 90:00)
- Wilkinson accounted for five of the Shoremen's 10 shots, while Cody Gray and Christian Cooke had two each.
- Washington finished with seven corner kicks in the game.
For Muhlenberg (3-6, 1-3 Centennial Conference)
- Scorers: Sarkos (1 goal), Dusing (1 assist)
- Goalkeeper: Jordan Schreer (1 save, 2 goals allowed, 90:00)
- Dusing and Wieand each had two shots for the Mules, who took seven of their eight in the second half.
- All five of the Mules' corner kicks came in the second half.
Notes
- Muhlenberg entered today's game with a 26-1-1 lead in the all-time series. The two teams played to a scoreless draw in 1996 and the Shoremen scored a 2-1 win over the Mules in 2008.
