Shoremen Stay Perfect with 6-0 Win at York

YORK, Pa. -- The Washington College men's tennis team improved to 6-0 on the season with a 6-0 non-conference victory over host York (Pa.) this afternoon. The Spartans dropped to 7-3 with the loss.

Senior Dan Boaté (West Chester, Pa./Reed Henderson) and senior Vishnu Rajes (Yercaud, India/St. John's) were 8-2 winners against Daniel Erk and Kaltrin Bullaj at No. 1 doubles, while senior Ryan Holtschneider (Kingsville, Md./Perry Hall) and sophomore Jeremy Novick (Cape May Court House, N.J./Middle Township) won by the same score against Jake Greenstein and Matt Rosenkrantz at No. 2. Sophomore Zachary Novick (Cape May Court House, N.J./Middle Township) and freshman Justin Panepinto (Cary, N.C./Middle Creek) bested Zach Hanson and Rory Handlin at No. 3 by an 8-4 final.

Rajes and Boaté blanked Greenstein and Rosenkrantz by identical 6-0, 6-0, scores at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Panepinto beat Herrera, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 6 singles before the match, which was being played to decision, was stopped.

The Shoremen return to action Saturday with a 12:00 p.m. Centennial Conference match at Franklin & Marshall.
