Junior men's tennis player
Jorge Urgal Zuleta (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/St. Michael's School) is this week's Shoreman of the Week. Urgal Zuleta went 4-0 in singles and 3-1 in doubles in a 3-1 week for the Shoremen.
In singles, Urgal Zuleta won all four matches in straight sets. On Tuesday at Ursinus in a 7-0 win, he swept
James Fassbender on Tuesday, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 5 and the next day in a 5-2 victory at #55 Salisbury at No. 6, he topped
Chase Catullo, 6-1, 6-0. On Saturday playing five singles in both matches, he topped Muhlenberg's
Sam Stein, 6-2, 6-1, in a 7-0 win and versus #6 Johns Hopkins, he bested
Andy Zhu, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4). In doubles on Tuesday, he teamed up with
Tichi Chialva at the top spot and down the Bears' tandem of
Russell Nour and
Noah Dichter, 6-1, and the next day the duo topped the Sea Gulls' top flight tandem of
Gury Suri and
Aron Bursztyn, 6-3. On Saturday, he played third doubles with
Tristan Sowter against the Muhlenberg and bested the Mules' pair of
Max Groton and
Casey Knipe, 6-2.
This is Urgal Zuleta's first career Shoreman of the Week honor.
