CHESTERTOWN, Md. -- The Washington College women's lacrosse team clinched no lower than the number three seed in the upcoming Centennial Conference Tournament with a 21-10 win over visiting Swarthmore College tonight on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Shorewomen improved to 10-4 overall and 6-2 in conference play with the win, while the Garnet dropped to 7-8 and 2-6 with the loss.

She also controlled a game-best eight draws, including the 200th of her career. Sophomore midfielder Alli Dudley (New Windsor, Md./Francis Scott Key) also matched her career high with eight total points, scoring five goals and adding three assists. Senior attacker Caroline Lovett (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) chipped in one goal and five assists, surpassing 100 career points in the process and finishing the game with 102 for her career. Lizzie Kolin led Swarthmore with three goals, while Elizabeth Bachman had two goals and Sara Lentricchia tallied three assists.

The Shorewomen held a 36-16 advantage in shots and controlled 22 of the game's 33 draws.

With their 10th win of the season, the Shorewomen assured themselves of double-digit wins for the fifth consecutive season. Before that current five-year stretch, the Shorewomen had reached double-digit wins just four times in their first 29 seasons of varsity play.

The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with their regular-season finale, a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at McDaniel. Washington will play in a Centennial Conference semifinal next Saturday. If Gettysburg defeats Bryn Mawr Saturday, the Bullets would secure the top seed and hosting rights for the semifinals and championship. Franklin & Marshall would then be the two seed and Washington's opponent in the semifinals.
