Box Score Lovett Supplies Three Goals, Four Assists in Fourth-Ever Shutout
BRYN MAWR, Pa. -- The Washington College women's lacrosse team jumped out to an 11-0 lead en route to a 16-0 Centennial Conference women's lacrosse victory over host Bryn Mawr this afternoon in Bryn Mawr, Pa. The Shorewomen improved to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in conference play with the win, while the Owls fell to 3-9 and 0-6 with the loss. The game was the Shorewomen's fifth-ever shutout and second this season. Washington defeated Rhode Island College, 17-0, on March 11th.
Senior attacker Caroline Lovett (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) scored three goals and assisted on four others in the victory. Senior midfielder Emily Hubley (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) and junior attacker Carley Kendall (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) each scored three goals, while senior attacker Catherine Stanley (Freeland, Md./Hereford) had two. Sophomore midfielder Alli Dudley (New Windsor, Md./Francis Scott Key) tallied one goal and three assists, while sophomore attacker Sarah Matanin (Monkton, Md./Hereford) and freshman attacker Morgen Moran (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark's) had one goal and one assist each.
Katie Alpert made 16 saves in goal in the loss for Bryn Mawr.
Washington held a substantial 35-2 advantage in shots in the contest.
The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a 12:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Dickinson.
