Weaver, Lazer Win in Singles Play
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — The host Mary Washington women's tennis team, ranked 19th in Division III and sixth in the Atlantic South region, won at all three doubles spots en route to a 7-2 win over visiting Washington College, ranked 10th in the region, in a non-conference match this afternoon. The Eagles improved to 2-1 with the win, while the Shorewomen dropped their season opener.

Doubles
- Kait Brogan and Shelby Harris defeated April Weaver and Krista Filiopoulos, 8-2, at No. 1. Brogan and Harris are ranked fifth in Division III and third in the region in doubles.
- The closest doubles match came at No. 2 where Sara Fioretti and Caroline Mosberg bested Julie Lazer and Rachel Martinez, 8-4. Fioretti and Mosberg are tied for 25th in Division III and are ranked seventh in the region.
- At No. 3, Christina Gaul and Alina Suyama topped Allie Boissounneault and MP Hubert, 8-1.
Singles
- Weaver scored a big win at No. 1 singles for the Shorewomen, knocking off Harris, 6-3, 7-6(4). Harris came into the match ranked 41st in Division III and 10th in the region, while Weaver was ranked 20th in the region.
- Lazer notched the Shorewomen's second point by rallying for a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, win at No. 2.
- Brogan, ranked 25th in the region in singles, blanked Martinez, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 3.
- At No. 4, Gaul defeated Filiopoulos, 6-1, 6-3.
- Taylor Diffley got the win for Mary Washington at No. 5, topping Hubert, 6-3, 6-1.
- The Eagles' Daniella Mirabella shut out Cat Scolamiero at No. 6, 6-0, 6-0.
