Shorewomen Sweep Doubles, Win at Five Singles Sports
ST. MARY'S CITY, Md.— The Washington College women's tennis team, ranked 10th in the Atlantic South region, evened its season record at 1-1 with an 8-1 win over host St. Mary's College of Maryland this afternoon. The Seahawks dropped to 1-3 with the loss.

Doubles
- The Shorewomen's Julie Lazer and Rachel Martinez were 8-1 winners over Melissa Barall and Anna Passaniti at No. 1.
- MP Hubert and Blair Kang added an 8-2 win for the Shorewomen against Marissa Romanek and Emily Rost at No. 2.
- The closest doubles match came at No. 3 where Washington's Monica Benitez and Krista Filiopoulos pulled out a 9-8(6) win against Katie Chase and Mollie Johnson.
Singles
- April Weaver, ranked 20th in the region in singles, defeated Barall, 6-0, 7-6(2), at No. 1.
- Martinez rolled to a 6-0, 6-0, win against Passaniti at No. 2.
- Filiopoulos was a 6-0, 6-1, winner against Romanek at No. 3.
- Hubert swept past Rost, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 4.
- Kiran Pant defeated Chase, 1-6, 6-2, 10-4, at No. 5.
- Liza Moore notched the lone St. Mary's point of the day with her 6-2, 6-1, win against Allie Boissonneault at No. 6.
