Shorewomen Clinch First-Round Bye in Conference Tournament
CHESTERTOWN, Md.— The 40th-ranked Washington College women's tennis team secured a first-round bye in the upcoming Centennial Conference Tournament this afternoon as the Shorewomen, who are also ranked eighth in the Atlantic South region, defeated visiting Gettysburg, 8-1, this afternoon. The Shorewomen improved to 12-3 overall and 8-1 in conference matches with the win, while the Bullets fell to 6-10 and 4-4 with the loss.

Doubles
- Julie Lazer and Rachel Martinez blanked Gillian Minnerly and Ally Flood, 8-0, at No. 2 and April Weaver and Marielle McIntyre followed with their 8-5 win against Maria Martinovic and Laura Gradiska at No. 1.
- Gettysburg avoided the doubles sweep when Hailey Hoffman and Jeannie Van Buren beat Blair Kang and Monica Benitez, 8-4, at No. 3.
Singles
- Weaver, ranked 13th in the Atlantic South in singles, was a 6-2, 6-0, winner against Martinovic at No. 1 and Lazer rolled to a 6-1, 6-1, win against Gradiska at No. 2.
- Kang followed with a 6-0, 6-0, win against Flood at No. 5, MP Hubert beat Hoffman, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 6, Martinez cruised to a 6-0, 6-0, win against Minnerly at No. 3, and Filiopoulos downed Emily Lutz, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 4.
