Shorewomen Post Best-Ever Non-Conference Record

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. — The Washington College women's soccer team won its final non-conference game of the season tonight, topping host Delaware Valley University, 2-0. The Shorewomen finish the non-conference portion of their schedule with a 5-1-1 non-conference record - the best non-conference record in the 19 seasons of varsity women's soccer at Washington College.

How It Happened
- Erin Smedley registered the first shot of the game for the Shorewomen, but it was saved by Delaware Valley goalkeeper Emily Schukraft in the second minute. A free kick by Arianna Sabatino in the 10th was likewise saved by a diving Schukraft.
- Steph Scott put the Shorewomen on the board with a penalty kick at the 19:57 mark.
- Taylor Boyer had a scoring chance in the 39th for the Aggies, but her header went just high over the crossbar.
- Washington goalkeeper Courtney Colbert then saved a shot on goal sent by Kylie Williams on a free kick at the end of the 39th.
- The Shorewomen picked up their second goal when Sabatino scored off a double assist from Maribeth Harrington and Paige Cahoon in the 53rd. Cahoon sent the ball to Harrington, who delivered a terrific through pass to Sabatino for a breakaway goal at 52:30.
- Lexi Young had a scoring chance for Washington in the 85th, but her hard shot was corralled by Schukraft.

For the Shorewomen (5-3-1)
- Scorers: Scott (1 goal), Sabatino (1 goal), Cahoon (1 assist), Harrington (1 assist)
- Goalkeeper: Courtney Colbert (1 saves, 0 goals allowed, 90:00)
- The Shorewomen recorded 23 shots and six corner kicks in the game.

For Delaware Valley (2-6-1)
- Scorers: none
- Goalkeeper: Schukraft (7 saves, 2 goals allowed, 90:00)
- The Aggies finished the game with five shots, just one of which went on goal, and four corner kicks.

Notes
- Sabatino's goal was her seventh of the season, making her the sixth player in team history to score seven or more goals in a season.
