Freshman Heads in Only Goal of Game in 30th Minute

SWARTHMORE, Pa. — A header by freshman forward Greg Adams (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) in the 30th minute proved to be all the scoring visiting Washington College would need in a 1-0 Centennial Conference men's soccer win over host Swarthmore College tonight on Clothier Field.

How It Happened
- Swarthmore's Francis Eddy had the first shot on goal of the game in the 21st minute. Joe Barile followed with a shot on goal in the 25th that was saved by a diving Gavin Campbell.
- It was the Shoremen, however, who found the back of the net as Adams headed in a long cross from Del Jenkins at 29:15 on Washington's first shot on goal of the game.
- Campbell saved another Swarthmore shot, this one from Charley Ward, at the end of the 34th minute. 
- The only shot on goal of the second half came in the 61st as Eddy Harvey's attempt was stopped by Campbell on a bounce.

- Swarthmore held a 22-10 advantage in total shots and a 5-1 edge in corner kicks in the game.

Notes
- This was the Shoremen's seventh consecutive game decided by one goal and 10th overall one-goal game this season. They are now 4-6 in such games this season.
