Shorewomen Score Game's First 10 Goals in 18-11 Victory Over Yellow Jackets

Vincent Tallies Five Goals, Two Assists, Five Ground Balls, Four Caused Turnovers in Win

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Host Washington College scored the first 10 goals of the game and led comfortably the rest of the way en route to an 18-11 non-conference women's lacrosse win over visiting Randolph-Macon this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. Senior attacker Katherine Vincent (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) scored five goals, notched two assists, picked up five ground balls, and recorded four caused turnovers in the win for the Shorewomen.

How It Happened
- The Shorewomen scored five times before the game was even four minutes old and grabbed a 10-0 lead thanks to a Rachael Shaw goal with 9:24 left in the first half. The Yellow Jackets scored the next three goals to get back within seven, but Washington went on take a 12-4 lead into halftime.
- The Shorewomen scored the first three goals of the second half to build a 15-4 advantage, their largest of the game, on a Vincent free-position goal with 24:23 remaining. They led by at least seven goals the rest of the way.

For the Shorewomen (4-2)
- Scoring: Vincent (5 goals, 2 assists); Kristy Grovom (4 goals, assist); Cecily Docktor (4 goals, assist); Morgen Moran (2 goals); Madison Acra (goal, assist)
- In Goal: Haylee Solomon (3 saves, 9 goals allowed, 51:47); Maddie Mullen (2 saves, 0 goals allowed, 8:13)
- Like Vincent, Docktor also put up impressive defensive numbers with seven ground balls and three caused turnovers.
- The Shorewomen held a 29-19 advantage in shots and a 30-20 advantage in ground balls in the game.

For Randolph-Macon (3-3)
- Scoring: Alicia Hsieh (3 goals); Saunders Riley (2 goals, 2 assists); Alex Lightfoot (goal, 3 assists); Lexi Jones (2 goals); Hannah Jones (2 goals)
- In Goal: Jamie Langbein (2 saves, 8 goals allowed, 14:38); Allie Walker (3 saves, 10 goals allowed, 45:22)
- Olivia Mott put up four ground balls and four caused turnovers for the Yellow Jackets.
- The Yellow Jackets held a slim 16-15 lead in draw controls. 

Notes
- Vincent was named the Goose Nation TV Shorewoman Player of the Game on the web cast of the contest.
- The two teams combined for 50 turnovers with Randolph-Macon committing 28 of them.
