How It Happened
- In the 23rd minute, the Cardinals had a free kick from just outside the box with Andrew Laurenzano taking the kick, but the Shoremen wall blocked both the initial shot and the rebounded attempt by Laurenzano.
- Washington got its first and lone shot of the first half with 8:16 remaining on a header by Liam Mansfield, but Catholic goalkeeper Jack Long was able to save the shot.  It turned out to be the Shoremen's lone shot of the evening.
- Tim Figueroa almost got the hosts on the board with 14 ticks left in the half, but his header hit the side of the side of the net to the right as Catholic enjoyed an 8-1 edge in shots in the first half.
- In the second half, Nelson Zimmerman of Catholic had a shot at the 63:53 mark that beat Washington keeper Josh Samuels, but not the defense as WC's Aidam Chadam cleared the ball before it could cross the goal line to keep it scoreless.
- Laurenzano had the final shot of the second half with 9:05 left, but his shot went high as Catholic took all nine shots in the second half.
- In overtime, Laurenzano had the first chance at golden goal 1:56 in, but his shot was kick saved by Samuels.
- Phil Meszaros had his header turned away by Samuels in the 95th minute.
- Catholic finally broke through with 75 seconds left in the overtime sessions when Narzikul's cross from the right side was finished off by Egan into the left side of the net as he shot it from the six.
