Box Score Shorewomen Open Centennial Play 6-0 For The First Time
HAVERFORD, Pa. – Visiting Washington College clinched a spot in the Centennial Conference Tournament for the eighth straight year and 11th time overall and improved to 6-0 in Centennial Conference play for the first time ever with a 16-11 win over host #25 Haverford in a Centennial Conference women's lacrosse game on Wednesday night at Swan Field. Washington secured its spot with a win and Dickinson losing to #2 Gettysburg, 13-5. The Shorewomen improve to 12-2 overall, while the Fords drop to 9-4 overall and 3-3 in conference play.

How It Happened
- The Shorewomen jumped out to a 5-2 lead on the second goal of the game for Lauren Brenner with 17:55 left in the first half.
- Allie Gibbons got Haverford within one at 5-4 with 15:34 left as she scored twice in a 64-second span.
- The teams would alternate the last six goals of the half and Washington took an 8-7 lead into halftime. Cecily Docktor scored Washington's last goal of the first half to give the guests an 8-6 lead with 3:20 left in the first.
- Washington scored six of the first seven goals of the second half to take a 14-8 lead with 13:00 remaining on a Brenner tally from Madison Schutz. Leading 9-8, Schutz scored a coast-to-coast goal as she tallied a caused turnover, picked up the ground ball and scored to give the Shorewomen a two-goal cushion.
- The Shorewomen took a 16-9 lead with 3:41 left on a Kristy Grovom on a pass from Alison Pantazes for their biggest lead of the game before the Fords scored the last two to provide the final margin.

- Scoring: Brenner (four goals), Grovom (three goals), Aubrey Robinson (three goals and one assist), Acra (two goals and one helper), Docktor and (two goals), Schutz (goal and assist), Alison Pantazes (two assists)
- In Goal: Isabella Richardson (60:00, nine saves, 11 goals)
- Schutz (career-bests of seven ground balls, five caused turnovers and five draw controls)
- WC went 17-for-17 in clears, went 3-for-9 in free position shots and had 18 ground balls.
- The Shorewomen outshot the Fords by a 29-27 margin.
For #25 Haverford (9-4, 3-3 CC)
- Scoring: Rina Rosnow (four goals), Julia Manetta (three assists to lead all players), Gibbons (three goals and one helper), Sarah Svetec (two goals), Kate Sollee (one goal and one assist)
- In Goal: Rachel Romens (38:36, four saves, 12 goals), Amelia Slade (21:24, three saves, four goals)
- Alyssa Sherman (six ground balls and four caused turnovers to lead Haverford in both categories)
- The Fords went 16-for-19 in clears and had two more turnovers than WC, 16-14.
- Haverford went 2-for-4 in free position chances and won the draw controls by one, 15-14.
- The hosts notched 20 ground balls in the game.
Notes
- The Shorewomen defeated Haverford for the fifth straight year and have won five consecutive games at Haverford dating back to 2011.
- Since 2000, Washington has won 15 of the 20 meetings with Haverford.
- Washington tallied a win against a ranked team for the second straight year as last year they downed #20 Muhlenberg 19-9 on April 7 in Allentown.
- Haverford's Julia Pascarella is the younger sister of Shorewomen Lacrosse alumna Cara Pascarella '17.
