Shorewomen Get Fowler Her First Career Victory in 13-8 Win over Lions

Docktor Notches Six Points on Three Goals and Three Helpers

READING, Pa. – Visiting Washington College got six points on three goals and three assists from senior attacker Cecily Docktor (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) in a 13-8 win over host Albright in a non-conference women's lacrosse game on Wednesday night at Gene L. Shirk Stadium as head coach Kate Fowler picked up her first career win as head coach for WC.  The Shorewomen improve to 1-1 overall, while the Lions drop to 1-2 overall.

How It Happened
- Albright scored three of the first goals to lead 3-1 with 19:22 left on a Maddie Taylor free position goal.
- Washington responded with the last five goals of the first half to take a 6-3 lead at halftime.  Cecily Docktor began the run with a goal 20 seconds after Taylor's score to cut it to 3-2.  Anna Bennett gave the Shorewomen their first lead of the game on a free position with 13:01 remaining in the first half at 4-3 and Kristy Grovom capped the first half scoring on a feed from Docktor to give the visitors a three goal lead at half.
- Leading 7-5 with 24:11 left following a Lions' goal by Kelly Baumann, the Shorewomen scored the next three to make it 10-5 with 19:33 remaining on a free position tally by Alison Pantazes.
- Both teams scored three goals the rest of the way to provide the final margin.

For The Shorewomen (1-1)
- Scoring: Docktor (three goals and three assists), Aubrey Robinson (four goals), Grovom (three scores), Lauren Brenner (one goal and two assists) and Alison Pantazes (goal and assist)
- In Goal: Isabella Richardson (60:00, 13 saves, eight goals)
- Melissa Donato (three draw controls)
- Madison Schutz (five ground balls and three caused turnovers)
- WC went 11-for-15 in clears, went 2-for-4 in free position shots and had 23 ground balls.

For Albright (1-2)
- Scoring: Sophie Bass (two goals and assist), Baumann (two goals)
- In Goal: Terae Mason (60:00, 14 saves, 13 goals)
- Bass (seven draw controls and three ground balls)
- Albright outshot Washington, 31-29, and had 17 ground balls.
- The Lions went 11-for-17 in clears and had five more turnovers than WC, 19-14.
- Albright went 2-for-6 in free position chances and won the draw controls, 14-9.

Notes
- It was the third meeting in three years in three different locations.  Two years ago the teams played in Hilton Head, S.C. and last year the two squared off in Sparks, Md. at the US Lacrosse Facility.
