#25 Shorewomen Run Past Garnet, 16-4, to Clinch Top Three Seed

Docktor Breaks Single-Season School Record for Draw Controls

SWARTHMORE, Pa. — Senior attacker Cecily Docktor (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) broke the single-season school record for draw controls as the 25th-ranked Washington College women's lacrosse team clinched a top three seed in next week's five-team Centennial Conference Tournament with a 16-4 win over host Swarthmore this afternoon on Clothier Field.

How It Happened
- Elizabeth Wainwright scored the first goal of the game for the Garnet with 27:09 left in the first half off an assist from Tess Wild. The Shorewomen then scored the next eight goals to firmly take control of the game, including four from Lauren Brenner and three from Colleen Keefe to surge ahead, 8-1, on a goal by Brenner off an Aubrey Robinson assist with 8:41 left in the first half.
- Docktor's school-record 86th draw control of the season came after the Shorewomen took a 7-1 lead on a goal by Robinson off a Alison Pantazes assist with 12:06 to go in the period.
- The Shorewomen brought an 11-3 lead into halftime as Brenner finished the half with five goals and one assist.
- Goals by Brenner and Anna Bennett to open the second half gave the Shorewomen a 10-goal lead and a running clock with 24:40 remaining.
- The Shorewomen's lead grew to as many as 13 goals later in the second half. 

For the Shorewomen (12-4, 7-1 Centennial Conference)
- Scoring Leaders: Brenner (6 goals, assist); Alison Pantazes (2 goals, 3 assists); Keefe (3 goals); Robinson (goal, assist); Docktor (goal, 2 assists)
- In Goal: Isabella Richardson (7 saves, 4 goals allowed, 60:00)
- The Shorewomen held a 34-20 advantage in shots and controlled 14 of the game's 21 draws.

For Swarthmore (11-4, 4-4 Centennial Conference)
- Scoring Leaders: Wild (goal, assist)
- In Goal: Madison Kline (11 saves, 16 goals allowed, 60:00)

Notes
- The previous Washington College single-season record for draw controls was 85, set by Emily Hubley in 2013. Docktor finished with seven in today's game to push her season total to 89.
- The Shorewomen will play Gettysburg in a Centennial Conference semifinal game at top-seeded Franklin & Marshall Saturday, May 4th. Washington will also finish its regular season this Saturday against Gettysburg, at Gettysburg. The winner of that game will be the conference tournament's second seed. The loser will be the third seed.
