Cress, Samer and White All Win in Singles and Doubles

CARLISLE, Pa. – The Washington College women's tennis team traveled to Dickinson and came away with a 5-2 victory at Hays Tennis Courts on Thursday afternoon in Centennial Conference women's tennis action.  Two matches went unfinished as the two teams played to decision.

Doubles
- The Shorewomen took a 2-1 lead after doubles.  Alisha White and Ella Samer at No. 1 doubles for WC got the better of Hanna Butler and Olivia Shea, 8-3, and the tandem of Cecilia Cress and Riley Katzman topped Emily Sprague and Rachel O'Brien, 8-2.
- At No. 3 doubles, the Red Devils' Neve Brennan and Lexi Epstein downed Sarah Bruno and Mariah Thomas, 8-4.

Singles
- White went to three sets with Epstein, but came away with a 4-6, 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 1, Samer took both sets from Butler at No. 2, 6-4, 6-2 and Cress needed to go the distance to prevail over Sprague, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 as Washington won three of four singles to finish.
- Lydia Fox was Dickinson's lone winner in singles as she rallied to best Bruno, 3-6, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 singles.
- Shea downed Katzman 6-1 and was ahead 1-0 in the second set when that contest was stopped at No. 5 and at No. 6 O'Brien won 6-0 in the opening set when that match was ended.

Notes
- Washington, who kept its Centennial Conference Tournament hopes alive with the win, is now 7-7 overall and 5-4 in the conference, while Dickinson drops to 6-8 and 4-5 respectively.
