#7 Sea Gulls Defeat Shorewomen, 16-7

Keefe Scores Three Goals

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Seventh-ranked Salisbury scored five of the first six goals en route to a 16-7 win over host Washington College in a non-conference women's lacrosse game played today on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium.

How It Happened
- Salisbury jumped out to a 3-0 lead with 17:43 left in the opening half on an unassisted goal from Emma Skoglund.
- Colleen Keefe got Washington on the board 42 seconds later, scoring off an assist from Lauren Brenner to cut the lead to 3-1.
- The Sea Gulls would get unassisted goals from Lily Cavallaro and Lydia McNulty to push the lead to 5-1, before Olivia Miller finished off an assist from Hannah Lee to cut the lead to 5-2 with 11:10 to play in the half. 
- McNulty and Skoglund would again score goals for Salisbury to extend the lead to 7-2 with 7:41 on the clock, before Lee would score her first career goal off of an Aubrey Robinson assist to slice the lead to 7-3 with 6:05 remaining.
- A pair of goals from Erin Scannell, the last coming with 10.2 seconds to go in the opening half off an assist from Gianna DeMato, gave the Sea Gulls a 9-3 lead at the halftime break.
- The teams traded the first six goals of the second half as a free position goal from Keefe set the score at 12-6 in favor of Salisbury with 18:24 to play.
- The Sea Gulls then scored the next three goals to open up their largest lead of the game at 15-6 with 9:33 to go on a goal from DeMato.
- Keefe and McNulty would trade score the last two goals of the game to set the final margin.  

For the Shorewomen (1-2)
- Scorers: Keefe (three goals), Brenner (one goal, two assists), Lee (one goal, one assist), Miller (one goal), Anna Bennett (one goal), Robinson (one assist).
- Goalie: Sydney Wingate (six saves, nine goals allowed, 30:00), Brigid Monahan (four saves, seven goals allowed, 30:00).
- Robinson and Bennett each had four draw controls.

For #7 Salisbury (3-1)
- Scorers: Scannell (four goals), McNulty (three goals), DeMato (two goals, two assists), Cavallaro (two goals, one assist), Skoglund (two goals), Alexis Stroebel (one goal, one assist), Riley Hartman (one goal), Julie Talbert (one goal), Delaney Hill (one assist).
- Goalie: Skye Graham (five saves, six goals allowed, 48:32), Mary Claire Hisle (zero saves, one goal allowed, 11:28).
- DeMato led all players with five draw controls, while Graham and Carrie Hesen each caused a pair of turnovers.
- Salisbury held a 38-14 advantage in shots, an 18-10 advantage in ground balls, a 14-11 edge in draw controls, and forced 17 turnovers from Washington, while having just nine turnovers themselves.

Notes
- Keefe was named the Goose Nation TV Shorewomen Player Of The Game on the webcast of the game for the first time in her career.
