Box Score Brenner Hands Out Career-Best Four Assists and Donato Tallies Personal-High Four Caused Turnovers
CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting #10 Catholic scored the first four goals of the second half to break a 5-5 halftime tie on its way to a 14-9 win over host Washington College in a non-conference women's lacrosse game on Monday afternoon at Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr., Stadium. The Cardinals improve to 3-0 on the season, while the Shorewomen 1-3.

How It Happened
- Washington scored two of the game's first three goals to lead 2-1 with 20:57 left in the first half on a man-up goal by Olivia Miller from Hannah Lee.
- Catholic responded with a 3-0 run of its own to take a 4-2 lead 15:24 left in the opening half on a Julia Clementi free position score.
- The Shorewomen answered with a 3-0 run of their own to take a 5-4 lead with exactly seven minutes left in the half on a Lee score from Anna Bennett following a caused turnover by Bennett.
- Holly Regan cashed in on a free position chance with 4:10 to go in the first to tie the game at 5-5 and that was the halftime score.
- Catholic scored four straight to open the second half to take a 9-5 lead with 23:19 left on an Anna Maupin score from Regan. The goal capped a run of four goals in 2:27 that was started by Ally Criscuolo with 25:42 left on an unassisted goal that put the Cardinals ahead for good.
- Catholic pushed its lead to 11-6 on a Caroline Beckett goal with 16:25 left as she scored twice in 23 seconds after Sydney Allender had scored for Washington with 21:06 remaining to end the run.
- WC would get within four on two occasions the rest of the way, but would draw no closer.
For The Shorewomen (1-3)
- Scoring: Lauren Brenner (career-high four assists), Colleen Keefe (three goals), Bennett (two goals and one assist), Lee (one goal and two helpers), Caroline Bailey (goal and assist)
- In Goal: Sydney Wingate (51:06, eight saves, 10 goals), Brigid Monahan (8:54, one save, four goals)
- Meghan Dean (career-best and game-high six ground balls) and Melissa Donato (personal-high four caused turnovers which tied for contest-topping), Catherine Keirn (four caused turnovers to tie for game-best)
- WC went 16-for-22 in clears, went 1-for-7 in free position shots and had 29 ground balls.
- The Shorewomen had just 13 turnovers and tallied 19 caused turnovers, while tallying 34 shots in the game.
For #10 Catholic (3-0)
- Scoring: Maupin (five goals), Beckett (two goals and two assists), Criscuolo and Clementi (two scores), Regan (goal and two assists)
- In Goal: Nanci Hernandez (60:00, 19 saves, nine goals, four ground balls)
- Clare Richards (nine draw controls) and Alyssa Bishop (four ground balls)
- Catholic won 18-of-25 draws and had 21 ground balls.
- The Cardinals went 18-for-21 in clears and had 25 turnovers, while causing just seven.
- Catholic went 5-for-9 in free position chances and took 34 shots in the game.
