Box Score Orlando, Fla. - - - The Washington College women's tennis team swept Baldwin Wallace, 9-0, on Monday morning at the Bert W. Martin Tennis Complex (Rollins College). The Shorewomen improved to 3-1 on the season.
Doubles
Cecilia Cress and Alisha White edged Ashtyn Morris and Jayde Robinson, 8-7, at the No. 1 doubles position. Marin Vander Schaaf and Ella Samer teamed up at the No. 2 position on an 8-5 triumph versus Becca Liebler and Elizabeth Cole. Bin Nguyen and Alexa Venturato bested Kailin Breedlove and Emma Hubbard, 8-4, at the No.3 doubles slot.
Singles
The Shorewomen won all six singles matches in straight sets, allowing a combined total of just 12 games won by Baldwin Wallace. Irene Meng took a 6-3, 6-2 win over Robinson at No. 1 singles. White defeated Morris, 6-4, 6-0, at the No. 2 slot. No. 3 Samer bested Cole, 6-0, 6-1 and Nguyen cruised over Liebler, 6-1, 6-1, at the No. 4 spot. No. 5 Vander Schaaf blanked Gina Upholzer, 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 5 spot and Venturato swept Kamryn DiRocco, 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 6 position.
